Keep water moving and your driveway protected.
When a culvert is undersized, damaged, or plugged, water doesn’t stop-it simply finds another route. Often that route is over your driveway or around its edges, causing erosion, soft spots, and even complete washouts. Ignoring a failing culvert usually means more damage and higher repair costs later.
Replacing or installing the right culvert restores flow and protects your driveway or access point from long-term damage.
We start by looking at the drainage area, ditch or swale, and any requirements that may apply in your area. For replacements, we remove the old pipe and any unstable material around it. For new installations, we excavate the trench, set the culvert at the proper grade, and then backfill and compact around it to support the crossing above.
Our goal is a clean, functional crossing that lets water pass freely while keeping your driveway or lane solid underfoot and under tire.
Cournaya’s Land Enhancement provides services across much of Michigan’s Thumb and surrounding areas. We regularly work throughout Tuscola, Sanilac, Lapeer, and St. Clair counties and in many of the communities in and around those counties.
We stand behind the work we do. Our guarantee is simple: we will show up when we say we will, do the work we agreed to, and walk the job with you before we leave. If something reasonable needs to be addressed related to the work we just completed, we will talk it through and make a plan to make it right.
Outdoor work is always at the mercy of weather and existing site conditions, but we do not disappear when the equipment leaves. If you have concerns about the workmanship on a recent project, contact us. We will review the site, explain what we are seeing, and discuss any adjustments that may be appropriate based on the original scope of work.
If water is overtopping your driveway, eroding the edges, or your culvert is clearly failing, it’s a good time to act. Contact Cournaya’s Land Enhancement to discuss your situation, and we’ll look at the site, recommend the right culvert solution, and outline the cost before any work begins.
Every job starts with a conversation. You tell us what is going wrong, how you use the property, and what you would like to change. We ask questions, look at any photos you have, and when needed schedule a visit so we can see the ground in person.
On site, we walk the area with you, point out problem spots, and talk through options. We explain what we recommend, why we recommend it, and how it will be done so you understand the plan before any equipment moves.
On delivery day, we bring the material with trucks sized for your property and access. We place piles where you can easily reach them with equipment or wheelbarrows, or where we will be grading if we are handling the spreading.
After delivery, we are available to answer questions about how to spread, compact, or maintain the material. If you decide you would like help with grading or additional work after seeing it on site, we can talk about next steps and schedule follow-up services.
The correct culvert size depends on how much water needs to move through the ditch and any requirements set by local authorities or road agencies. We’ll look at the drainage area, upstream and downstream conditions, and any guidelines that apply, then recommend an appropriate pipe size for your crossing.
In many cases, yes. We can remove the damaged culvert, install a new one, and rebuild just the section of driveway above it. If the damage has spread farther, we’ll explain what areas need repair so the crossing is fully supported and safe to use.
Most typical residential culvert projects can be completed in about a day, depending on the length of the pipe, depth, and site access. More complex drainage situations may take longer. We’ll give you a realistic schedule when we look at the site and plan the work.
Cournaya’s Land Enhancement is a family-run company that treats every property like our own. We focus on honest recommendations, practical solutions, and work that is built to handle real-world use, not just look good for a day. When you call us, you talk directly with the people who will be on your property, running the equipment and standing behind the results.
Our team is used to working on driveways, yards, fields, and rural properties across the area. We understand soft ground, standing water, and washed-out drives because we deal with them every season. That experience shows up in the way we plan each job and the small details that help your project hold up over time.
