Cournaya’s Land Enhancement reshapes uneven yards so water flows where it should and your property is easier to use and maintain. We grade and level ground for lawns, landscaping, and outdoor projects, leaving you with a smoother surface that’s ready for what comes next.

When Your Yard Needs Grading

Settling, construction work, and time can leave your yard full of dips, humps, and low areas that hold water. Mowing becomes a chore, muddy spots ruin shoes, and water may even work its way toward structures instead of away from them.

  • Standing water near buildings or in the lawn
  • Uneven ground that’s rough to walk or mow on
  • Soil sloping toward the house instead of away
  • Sunken areas after utility or construction work

Proper yard grading reshapes the soil so water moves to safer areas and leaves you with a yard that looks better and is more enjoyable to use.

How Our Yard Grading & Leveling Works

We begin by checking how your yard currently drains and where problem spots show up after storms. Then we use grading equipment to carefully cut down high spots, fill low areas, and establish consistent slopes that carry water away from structures and low-lying sections.

  • Evaluate existing grades, slopes, and drainage paths
  • Cut high areas and redistribute soil to low spots
  • Blend graded areas smoothly into the surrounding yard
  • Shape the ground for better mowing and maintenance
  • Rough grade to prepare for seed, sod, or additional landscaping

Once grading is complete, your yard is ready for grass, plantings, or other improvements without fighting the same old drainage problems.

Our Guarantee to You

We stand behind the work we do. Our guarantee is simple: we will show up when we say we will, do the work we agreed to, and walk the job with you before we leave. If something reasonable needs to be addressed related to the work we just completed, we will talk it through and make a plan to make it right.

Our Workmanship Warranty

Outdoor work is always at the mercy of weather and existing site conditions, but we do not disappear when the equipment leaves. If you have concerns about the workmanship on a recent project, contact us. We will review the site, explain what we are seeing, and discuss any adjustments that may be appropriate based on the original scope of work.

Ready for a Smoother, Better-Draining Yard?

If you’re dealing with standing water, rough ground, or low spots that never seem to dry out, yard grading can make a big difference. Get in touch with Cournaya’s Land Enhancement, and we’ll walk the yard, explain your options, and help you decide on the best way to reshape your property.

How Our Service Process Works

Step 1: Talk Through the Project

Every job starts with a conversation. You tell us what is going wrong, how you use the property, and what you would like to change. We ask questions, look at any photos you have, and when needed schedule a visit so we can see the ground in person.

Step 2: Walk the Site and Plan the Work

On site, we walk the area with you, point out problem spots, and talk through options. We explain what we recommend, why we recommend it, and how it will be done so you understand the plan before any equipment moves.

Step 3: Do the Grading and Site Work

On delivery day, we bring the material with trucks sized for your property and access. We place piles where you can easily reach them with equipment or wheelbarrows, or where we will be grading if we are handling the spreading.

Step 4: Review the Results Together

After delivery, we are available to answer questions about how to spread, compact, or maintain the material. If you decide you would like help with grading or additional work after seeing it on site, we can talk about next steps and schedule follow-up services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Grading does involve moving soil, so the areas we work in will be disturbed, and existing grass may need to be removed or reestablished. We focus on the sections that need correction and tie back into the surrounding yard as cleanly as we can. After grading, the area will be ready for seed, sod, or new landscaping.

In many cases, yes. Standing water often shows up where the ground has settled or slopes toward a low spot. By reshaping the yard and setting the right pitch, we can direct water toward more appropriate drainage points. For more complex problems, grading may be combined with other drainage solutions, which we’ll discuss if needed.

Yard grading works best when the ground isn’t frozen and isn’t overly saturated. Spring and fall are often ideal because conditions make it easier to shape the soil and get new grass or landscaping established afterward. We’ll time the work to line up with your plans and local conditions.
