Smooth, level gravel driveways graded the right way.
Gravel driveways rarely stay perfect on their own. Rain, snowmelt, and everyday traffic cause the surface to wash out and settle, leaving low spots and high ridges that are uncomfortable to drive over. Ruts deepen, water starts to pool, and stone is pushed off to the sides instead of staying where it belongs.
Professional driveway grading reshapes the surface, restores the crown or slope, and evenly redistributes stone so your driveway drains correctly and looks cared for again.
We start by walking your driveway with you to see where water is causing problems and where the surface has broken down. Our grading equipment cuts down high spots, fills low areas, and reshapes the drive so water flows away from buildings and soft spots instead of into them.
For driveways that have been neglected for years, we can perform deeper cuts and rebuilding passes to get you back to a solid base so your driveway both looks and performs like new.
Cournaya’s Land Enhancement provides services across much of Michigan’s Thumb and surrounding areas. We regularly work throughout Tuscola, Sanilac, Lapeer, and St. Clair counties and in many of the communities in and around those counties.
We stand behind the work we do. Our guarantee is simple: we will show up when we say we will, do the work we agreed to, and walk the job with you before we leave. If something reasonable needs to be addressed related to the work we just completed, we will talk it through and make a plan to make it right.
Outdoor work is always at the mercy of weather and existing site conditions, but we do not disappear when the equipment leaves. If you have concerns about the workmanship on a recent project, contact us. We will review the site, explain what we are seeing, and discuss any adjustments that may be appropriate based on the original scope of work.
If your driveway is full of ruts, potholes, or standing water, you don’t have to keep fighting it. Contact Cournaya’s Land Enhancement for a quick conversation about your driveway, and we’ll take a look, recommend the right grading approach, and outline the cost so you know exactly what to expect.
Every job starts with a conversation. You tell us what is going wrong, how you use the property, and what you would like to change. We ask questions, look at any photos you have, and when needed schedule a visit so we can see the ground in person.
On site, we walk the area with you, point out problem spots, and talk through options. We explain what we recommend, why we recommend it, and how it will be done so you understand the plan before any equipment moves.
On delivery day, we bring the material with trucks sized for your property and access. We place piles where you can easily reach them with equipment or wheelbarrows, or where we will be grading if we are handling the spreading.
After delivery, we are available to answer questions about how to spread, compact, or maintain the material. If you decide you would like help with grading or additional work after seeing it on site, we can talk about next steps and schedule follow-up services.
Most gravel driveways benefit from grading about once a year, especially after winter and periods of heavy rain. High-traffic or steep driveways may need attention more often. If you’re seeing ruts, washouts, or standing water, that’s a good sign it’s time to have the driveway reshaped.
It depends on how much stone is left and how the base looks. If there is still enough gravel on the drive, we can often reshape and reuse it. If the base is thin or a lot of material has washed away, we may recommend adding new gravel while we grade. We’ll show you what we see on site and talk through the options before you commit.
Many residential driveway grading projects can be completed in a single day, depending on the length of the drive and how severe the damage is. Larger properties or heavily neglected driveways may take longer, especially if we are also coordinating new stone delivery. We’ll give you a realistic time frame when we review your driveway in person.
Cournaya’s Land Enhancement is a family-run company that treats every property like our own. We focus on honest recommendations, practical solutions, and work that is built to handle real-world use, not just look good for a day. When you call us, you talk directly with the people who will be on your property, running the equipment and standing behind the results.
Our team is used to working on driveways, yards, fields, and rural properties across the area. We understand soft ground, standing water, and washed-out drives because we deal with them every season. That experience shows up in the way we plan each job and the small details that help your project hold up over time.
